Bug Houses

Ladybirds and lacewings are the gardeners friend, help them out by giving them a home over the winter. When you cut down any old herbaceous plants with hollow stems cut up the stems into 10cm lengths and bundle a few few together, tie round the middle with string and hang from the branches of trees at 120cm to150cm off the ground.  This will be the perfect home for bugs that prefer to overwinter off the ground.
